Obai & Hill organized Ma’akum’s first press conference on the 2nd of December 2013, at the Gulf Hotel, Bahrain. Ma’akum is a group of 16 candidates running for the 28th session of the elections for the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The press conference held included the candidates introducing themselves to the members of the press and announced the overall mission, vision and objective of the group.

Ma’akum are passionate about improving the effectiveness of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s executive leadership and its ability to provide quality value added services as well as to promote its entrepreneurial spirit and enhance its role in the services of the country’s business environment and the private sector. Ma’akum wants to strive towards further developing the role of small and medium-sized enterprises as they are considered the pillars of the national economy. They also strive to work towards further improving the current market conditions and defining effective solutions to the trader’s problems.

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry want to strengthen their ability to provide research and development, marketing studies, consultation services as well as tracking the business trends and market indicators to improve the role of the BCCI in the development of the society as a whole. They also strive to promote the adoption of modern IT systems with the aim of developing advanced electronic system. Ma’akum also wants to firmly implant the principles of consultation and dialogue between the Chambers executive body and its members in order to strengthen the BCCI’s ability to meet challenges and offer solutions, in addition to further develop the BCCI’s various components with a focus towards keeping up with new developments.
